Bereaved Families of Ontario – Halton/Peel is a non-profit, charitable organization offering compassion and care for people dealing with the death of a loved one. At Bereaved Families of Ontario- Halton/Peel we offer a variety of ways for you to reach out such as; one-to-one meetings with someone who has been in a similar situation as you; Share & Support nights that bring people together to share their stories and offer each other compassion; a variety of mutual-support groups such as:
• Peer support groups for children – Children ages 6-8 and 9-12 who have experienced the death of a parent, caregiver or sibling
• Peer support groups for youth – Youth ages 13-17 who have experienced the death of a parent, caregiver, sibling or close friend
• Peer support groups for young adults – Young adults ages 18-30 who have experienced the death of a parent/caregiver or sibling
• Peer support groups for adults
– Parents of an infant child including miscarriages, babies that are born still and newborn/infant deaths
– Parents who have experienced the death of a child of any age through any cause of death
– Adults who have experienced the loss of a spouse/partner
• Share & Support – These meetings are open to adults in the community and can be attended on a monthly or bi-weekly basis, at any of our various locations in the Peel/Halton regions. Share and Support allows family and friends to share and facilitate a further understanding of grief.
